History
The ground service company “Baltic Ground Services” was established on September 15th, 2005 after privatization of the national aircraft company „Lietuvos avialinijos” (presently – „flyLAL- Lithuanian airlines“). Previously it acted as a subdivision of „Lithuanian Airlines“ and provided ground services to passengers and aircrafts.
Today „Baltic Ground Services“ is providing ground services at Vilnius international airport. It is serving over 10 Lithuanian and foreign regular and charter flight companies.
Interesting facts
- At the international airport of Vilnius (from November 5th, 2007) check-in of passengers and their baggage takes place at 30 registration counters. There are 9 boarding gates and 6 boarding galleries for passengers.
- Our professional and qualified staff handles over 20 flights on a daily basis.
- The first baggage reaches passengers within 15 minutes after aircraft stops at ramp.
- It takes averagely 5 hours to wash a “Boeing”-type aircraft, and 3 hours to wash SAAB - type aircraft.
- Over 90 per cent of passengers changing flights receive their baggage on time.
- The majority of our machineries are electricity-driven and environmentally-friendly.
